MEDICAL POT APPROVED IN MICHIGAN FOR PTSD
Medical marijuana was approved recently for treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in Michigan. Many of my Social Security disability and SSI clients here in Michigan have medical marijuana cards. This is the first time pot has approved for a mental disorder in Michigan.
Previously medical marijuana could only be prescribed for Michigan patients, including those receiving SSDI & SSI benefits, to treat conditions such as cancer, to treat chronic pain or the nausea and loss of appetite that comes with chemotherapy treatment.
Can approval for anxiety & depression be far behind for Michigan residents, including those receiving Social Security disability & SSI benefits?
Approximately 100,000 people have been granted medical marijuana cards in Michigan after receiving a prescription from their doctor.
