For years I have dealt with clients who have been denied or cut-off Medicaid by the Michigan Dept. of Human Services, seemingly without reason. Without access to medical care Social Security Claimants here in Michigan cannot prove their cases.
But over the past 90 days I am amazed at how many clients have been approved for Medicaid by the Michigan Dept. of Human Services. The expansion promised through the Affordable Care Act appears to be real.
And even better news. I had a Michigan resident who is a Workers’ Compensation client apply for, and get approved for, health insurance with a subsidy, on the Affordable Health Care website….in one day. This client’s doctor only disabled her through mid-November and her case was going nowhere. In addition to healthcare, this client now has a fighting chance in prevailing in her Michigan Workers’ Compensation case.
