We have all seen the “temporary” surcharges as inflation has eroded buying power. A $.50 gas bump. Something similar for meat.
In recognition Congress is considering a $200 per month bump for Social Security beneficiaries. A bill introduced by Representative Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) & Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) would add another $200 to Social Security beneficiaries.
The average Social Security recipient would receive 12% more in monthly benefits, if the bill is adopted.
